About the Role:
Are you passionate about helping children achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Mentor to support children in a primary school setting, guiding them in their learning journey and fostering positive development. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with their academic progress, personal growth, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with children to provide academic support and encouragement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel confident to engage and participate.
- Assist children with their learning in various subjects, including literacy, numeracy, and creative activities.
- Support children with additional learning needs or emotional challenges, adapting teaching methods to suit individual requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to monitor progress and implement strategies for improvement.
- Provide pastoral care and be a positive role model for students, promoting good behaviour and emotional resilience.
- Encourage children to develop their social skills and build positive relationships with peers.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or youth setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young learners.
- Patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach to mentoring and supporting children.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and work creatively to engage children in learning.
- An understanding of child development and the challenges children face in their educational journey.
- Previous experience supporting children with learning difficulties or special educational needs is an advantage.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a desire to make a real difference in children’s lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
