Teaching Assistant – Supporting SEN Pupils
Location: Primary School, Bristol, BS7
Contract Type: Full-time, Until the End of the Academic Year
Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience

Are you passionate about supporting children and making a positive impact on their educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bristol. You will be working alongside a supportive team to provide assistance to two pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to two pupils with SEN, assisting with their academic and social development.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver tailored learning plans and activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure the pupils are fully engaged and supported throughout their school day.
  • Collaborate with SEN specialists and teachers to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies as required.
  • Assist in the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and development.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (essential).
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach to supporting the individual needs of the pupils.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £49.50, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
