Teaching Assistant – Supporting Children with SEN in Primary Schools Across Bristol

Are you passionate about supporting children’s education and making a difference in their learning journey? We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Bristol, providing 1:1 and group support for children with varying levels of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

No formal classroom experience is required, but experience working with children is essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a flexible basis, with both full-time and part-time positions available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children with SEN, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities to meet individual needs
• Help with behaviour management and encourage positive interactions within the classroom
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to monitor progress
• Adapt teaching materials and techniques to suit the varying abilities of children
• Ensure children are safe and supported during all school activities

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting (classroom experience is not required)
• A passion for supporting children with SEN and a commitment to their development
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in various schools across Bristol
• A proactive approach and the ability to work well as part of a team

Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £49.50, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
