We are currently looking for an energetic and friendly individual to join our ever-expanding team as a Graduate Trainee Recruitment Consultant based in  our  Newcastle location. The central  Newcastle  office, based in the city centre, is one of our busiest locations and has seen huge growth over the last 12 months. We are looking for a trainee recruitment consultant to join the team to help support and maintain existing business, while also growing and developing the business into new areas. The  Tyne Tees Primary team cover schools in  across a wide geographical area, so the ability to drive and have access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.   

Our  Newcastle team is made up of diverse, dynamic, and social individuals with varying experience and backgrounds. They always maintain a positive working environment and have a good reputation amongst clients and candidates for delivering excellent customer service while also maintaining very positive professional relationships.   

This is a full time, permanent position starting as soon as possible. Our current working arrangement (post lockdown) consists of a part time home/office-based structure. Full IT equipment will be provided for home working.   

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant at Teaching Personnel,  you are the vital link between our client schools and candidates. You will join a thriving team covering a specialist Primary sector and will be responsible for building your candidate pool and school base across a local area. 

You will: 

  • Make a high volume of sales and business development calls to schools across your local area 

  • Build and develop your own candidate database by sourcing and recruiting quality teachers and support staff and matching them to temporary and permanent job placements 

  • Have regular face-to-face client visits (via video conferencing due to COVID-19) to build relationships with key decision makers in schools   

  • Work to KPIs and targets in line with your branch and career ladder 

  • Contribute to the wider team and help support group performance

About You 

You will be educated to degree level and have a passion for education. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality. Prior knowledge of the education sector would also be beneficial to the role. Resilience and the ability to perform in challenging environments is also essential.   

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills throughout out interview process if you are shortlisted which consists of a telephone interview, first interview, psychometric tests and a second interview if you are successful at the first stage.   

Hours of Work 

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis (42.5 hours per week, 5 days per week). 

Salary and Benefits 

In return for your  efforts, we offer a great package consisting of: 

  • Annual salary from GBP20,000 per year to reflect skills and experience plus performance-related commission 

  • 25 days holiday + UK bank holidays, increasing with service 

  • Reduced working hours during school holidays
