Job description

Teaching Assistant required for a school who are dedicated to providing an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for students who require a more tailored approach to education. Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Yeovil. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support the learning and development of our students, many of whom face challenges that require a nurturing and patient approach. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide targeted support and encouragement.
  • Assist with classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, offering insights to teachers.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that respects and supports diversity.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed on best practices in education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
