Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and helping them to succeed? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team located in Waterlooville, starting in January 2025.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support students in their learning, both in whole-class activities and through targeted one-to-one or small-group support. You will help students with their academic progress, as well as support their social and emotional development. You will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons.
  • Work with individual and small groups of students to provide additional support where needed.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those with additional learning needs.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and the preparation of learning resources.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable).
  • A positive and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage children in their learning.
  • A commitment to supporting the ethos and values of the school.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
