Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Stockport

Teaching Personnel is working with an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Stockport to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year. The role offers a chance to transition into a permanent position based on performance. The pay for this role is £419.25 - £500 per week.

Role Overview

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school environment, working alongside teachers to support students in their learning and development. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential classroom support, ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds, can fully engage in their lessons and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and provide support to students both individually and in small groups.
  • Individualised Learning: Work closely with students who may require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or behavioural challenges, to ensure they access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Behavioural Support: Assist in managing classroom behaviour, implementing strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and Feedback: Track the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and making recommendations for any additional support required.
  • Encouraging Independence: Help students develop skills for independent learning and problem-solving.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work as part of a team with teaching and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.

  • Good Communication Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience and Empathy: The ability to support students with different learning styles, needs, and challenges.

  • Experience Working with Young People (Desirable): Any experience in tutoring, youth work, or SEN support is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
