Are you considering a teaching career but don’t yet have any hands-on school experience?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Stockport who are looking for 2 sociable and patient graduates to support in their Science and Maths Departments on a full-time basis, after the Easter holiday until the end of the academic year, in July 2024 (8:30am – 3:30pm).

This is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. A successful applicant has the opportunity to earn up to £1750PCM (depending on experience).

Key role responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Science/Maths Departments to identify and support those students who would benefit from additional help.
- Champion students who are academically gifted and need pushing in order to excel.
- Providing 1:1 tutor support and interventions with small groups.
- Offering detailed feedback on student progress and development to teachers.
- It is essential that applicants can be patient and are willing to build relationships with students who are disengaged with school life

The school is looking for a reliable and organised individual who specialises in any relevant Science/Maths discipline, to support the department and help to resolve any issues proactively. It is essential that applicants are approachable in order for them to connect with students from a variety of different backgrounds.

In addition, the school is situated in the heart of Old Trafford and is surrounded by lots of public transport links which make it highly accessible. Applicants with a vehicle would find the commute from surrounding city areas easy, and there is a secure car park onsite for members of staff with a vehicle.

If you are a confident, adaptable graduate looking to work in a Secondary School environment, this role offers great opportunities to gain further experience supporting students.

- Opportunity to secure a longer-term contract with the school dependent upon requirement, success and availability
- Highly supportive and reputable staff and department
