Job description

highly reputable and expanding Multi Academy Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated staff team at one of their secondary schools in Ellesmere Port. This is a flexible role, requiring a minimum commitment of three days per week, with working hours from 08:30am to 15:30pm.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students in achieving their full potential. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates interested in a career in education to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students across various subjects.
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inspiring learning atmosphere.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A degree in any subject (2:2 or above preferred).
  • Passion for Education: A strong interest in pursuing a career in education or working with young people.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Adaptability: The ability to work flexibly in a dynamic school environment.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to the school community.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Clearances: Successful candidates must pass enhanced DBS checks and provide satisfactory references.

Salary: Dependent on experience
Contract: Flexible, Part-time (3 days a week minimum) Fulltime hours available
Timetable: 08:30 – 15:30

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
