Job description

A highly reputable Multi Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their secondary school in Ellesmere Port. This is a flexible opportunity requiring a minimum commitment of three days per week, with working hours from 08:30 to 15:30.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will support students with a range of additional needs, ensuring they have the tools and encouragement required to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students.
  • Assisting in the implementation of individualized learning plans.
  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Supporting students with physical, emotional, or behavioral needs as required.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the school and students.

Essential Qualifications and Checks:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
