Position: Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: £400-£500 a week


We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to support our dynamic Physical Education (PE) department in a well- established school in Teesside. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong interest in sport and education who is looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Job Description:
As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our PE teachers to support the delivery of high-quality physical education lessons and extracurricular activities. You will be involved in assisting students of various abilities, providing practical support in lessons, and promoting the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. This position is an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching skills and explore a potential career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of PE lessons across a range of sports and activities.
  • Support students in developing their physical skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Work with students in small groups or one-to-one to provide additional support.
  • Help with the organisation and supervision of extracurricular activities, sports clubs and teams.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of PE resources and materials.
  • Support students in achieving their personal fitness and sporting goals.
  • Promote physical activity, health and well-being within the school community.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and engagement.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Sports Science, Sports Studies, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in sport and physical activity.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students and help them to achieve their potential.
  • Passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Experience in coaching or sports leadership (desirable but not essential.)
  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide at least two professional employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
