Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockton
Start Date: April 2024
Salary: £400-£450 per week
Are you a recent graduate looking to embark on your new career into secondary education. Teaching Personnel could be the answer you’re looking for. This full-time position begins in Easter and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role, depending on performance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide small group and one-to-one support to students with unique needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons by adapting strategies to meet each students’ diverse needs.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, pastoral teams and SEN coordinators to discuss and implement individual support plans.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements
- Be a recent graduate in teaching or related field.
- Demonstrate passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- Experience working within an education sector (desirable but not essential).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide at least two professional employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
