Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Graduate to join our team. As a Sports Graduate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our students through the delivery of high-quality sports and physical education activities. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to design and implement sports programs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sports Coaching: Plan and deliver engaging sports sessions that promote physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  2. Behavioral Support: Utilize sports as a tool to enhance students' social skills, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. Implement strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive interactions on the sports field.

  3. Individualized Support: Tailor sports activities to accommodate the varying needs and abilities of students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Provide one-on-one support and encouragement to students who may require additional assistance or motivation.

  4. Curriculum Integration: Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate sports and physical education into the broader curriculum, fostering cross-curricular learning opportunities and promoting a holistic approach to education.

  5. Assessment and Progress Tracking: Monitor students' progress and participation in sports activities, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to inform individualized support plans. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to support ongoing development.

  6. Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders, promoting the value of sports and physical activity in enhancing overall well-being. Organize and facilitate extracurricular sports events, tournaments, and community outreach initiatives.

  7. Continuing Professional Development: Stay abreast of best practices and developments in sports coaching, physical education, and behavioral support. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a sports coaching or educational setting, particularly those with behavioral challenges or SEND.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Understanding of behavioral management techniques and strategies, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sports sessions that cater to a range of abilities and interests, fostering inclusivity and enjoyment.
  • Enthusiasm for promoting the benefits of sports and physical activity in enhancing overall well-being and personal development.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
