SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant SEN provision in Rawtenstall, catering for students with a range of additional needs.

About the Role:

  • Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am - 3:30pm
  • Hourly Rate: £12.90 per hour
  • Location: Rawtenstall
  • Start Date: Immediate start available

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs, providing tailored support throughout their learning journey. You will work closely with the teaching staff to ensure that each student’s individual needs are met, both academically and personally. A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team are essential, as well as a commitment to providing the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of additional needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist with personal care where required
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to ensure students’ learning and emotional needs are met
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students
  • Help students with physical, emotional, and academic development
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children with additional needs is highly desirable
  • Willingness to provide personal care and assist with physical support if required
  • A proactive and “can-do” attitude, ready to hit the ground running
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, compassionate, and understanding nature

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
