Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Darwen, Specialist Provision
Hourly Rate: £12.90 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist provision in Darwen for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing support for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive behaviour
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create a safe, inclusive environment
  • Implement and support behaviour management strategies
  • Encourage emotional development and resilience in the pupil

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours (pupils or adults)
  • Have a background in support work, care work, sports coaching, or psychology
  • Be patient, understanding, and proactive in adapting to individual needs
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Show a passion for supporting young people in their educational and emotional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
