Position: 1:1 Support Assistant


Location: Burnley


School: Secondary SEN School

Pay: £12.90p/h

About the school: We are a dedicated and inclusive secondary SEN school in Burnley, committed to providing outstanding support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The Role: As a 1:1 Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to a student, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with learning activities tailored to the student’s individual needs.
  • Supporting communication development and social interaction.
  • Providing encouragement and guidance to help build confidence and independence.
  • Assisting with personal care as needed, ensuring the student’s well-being and dignity at all times.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff to deliver a holistic approach to education.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A caring and patient approach, with a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the students.
  • Willingness to undertake training in personal care if required.
