We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at a Primary/Secondary Alternative Provision in Burnley. This role will focus on supporting pupils in the KS3 and KS4 department, helping them overcome their obstacles to education and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students in KS3 and KS4 who are experiencing challenges in their educational journey, including those with challenging behaviour.
- Work closely with teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of each pupil.
- Develop and implement strategies and interventions to help students manage their behaviour and engage more effectively with their learning.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage their personal and academic growth.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s development.
About You:
- Significant experience working with young people in an educational or youth work setting, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of the issues faced by students in alternative provision and a proactive approach to overcoming these barriers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient personality, committed to making a positive difference in young people’s lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently when required.
