Full Time – SEN Teaching Assitant
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackburn, BB2
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? This rewarding role involves providing crucial support to children across Key Stage 1, including Reception, Year 1, and Year 2, who have varying SEN requirements.
Responsibilities:
Individualised Support: Provide tailored support to children with SEN requirements, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities and resources.
Assistance in Classroom: Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments, assisting with classroom activities and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
Personalised Learning: Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to suit the needs of each child.
Emotional Support: Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to build their confidence and self-esteem.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external panels to ensure continuity of care and support for each child.
Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
Inclusive Practices: Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community, advocating for the needs of children with SEN and raising awareness among staff and peers.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or adults with SEN requirements is essential, demonstrating empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in their well-being.
- Experience within a Primary School setting is desirable but not essential; however, a willingness to learn and adapt to the school's ethos and practices is essential.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
