1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 3 - Global Learning Delay)
Location: Lytham St Annes (FY8)

Year Group: Year 3
Support Need: Global Learning Delay
Location: Lytham St Annes
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Immediate start

About the Role:
We are seeking a caring and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Year 3 who has a Global Learning Delay. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the child with their academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring they can fully engage with the school curriculum.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individualized learning plans and provide a nurturing environment where the child feels supported and confident. This role is ideal for someone with experience in special educational needs (SEN) or a background in child support who is looking for a rewarding and fulfilling role in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with Global Learning Delay, focusing on personalized learning strategies.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where the child can thrive socially and academically.
  • Encourage the child’s participation in classroom activities and help manage their progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and SENCo to monitor and report on the child’s development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN capacity.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • An understanding of Global Learning Delay or similar needs is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
