Teaching Assistant (KS2 - ASD & SEMH Support) - South Shore, Blackpool
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs in South Shore, Blackpool, starting after the October half-term.
Key Details:
- Position: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for KS2 child)
- Location: South Shore, Blackpool
- Start Date: After October half-term
- Contract: Full-time, term time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a KS2 child with ASD and SEMH needs, helping them engage in learning activities.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour, ensuring the child remains focused and calm.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to deliver individualized education and care plans.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Build a trusting relationship with the child, encouraging positive social interactions and self-regulation skills.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASD, SEMH, or other special educational needs in a school setting.
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the wider team.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification are preferred but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
