Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support young learners across Key stages, helping to create a stimulating and nurturing environment that promotes children’s development and learning. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work across various schools in Cornwall, providing a diverse and enriching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging  activities that promote children's learning and development.
  • Support individual or small groups of children, adapting activities to meet their specific needs and abilities.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
  • Prepare and set up learning resources and classroom displays that enhance the learning experience.
  • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress and development, providing feedback to the teacher and parents.
  • Implement the EYFS framework and assist in the delivery of the Early Learning Goals.
  • Support children with additional needs, including helping to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging independence and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce).
  • Experience working with young children in an Early Years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in an Education setting.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Additional training or certifications related to education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
