Job description

Job Title: SEN GCSE Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Basildon

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored academic support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preparing for their GCSE examinations
  • Create individualised learning plans to address specific learning challenges and goals
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in accordance with the national curriculum
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Organisational skills to track student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in Special Education or SEN teaching
  • Experience with exam preparation and assessment

Working Conditions:

The role involves working closely with students in a one-on-one setting. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate student schedules and exam periods.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
