Job description

Job Title: KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Witham

Job Type:

Temporary, Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored educational support to Key Stage 3 students who are Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess students' learning needs and create individualised learning plans
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and support as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff and caregivers to ensure the educational needs of LAC students are met

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3 curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Previous experience working as a tutor or teacher, specifically with LAC students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children in education
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Strong classroom management skills

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within learners homes in Essex, with regular hours during term time. The successful candidate will work closely with LAC students and school staff to support their educational development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
