Job description

Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Orsett

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

As a UASC ESOL Tutor, your primary responsibility will be to deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). This includes planning and implementing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing individualised support to help students improve their English language skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised TEFL or TESOL qualification
  • Experience teaching ESOL to young learners
  • Strong understanding of the needs of UASC

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL to young learners, preferably within a UASC context.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities and diversity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or TESOL
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary position with full-time hours. The role may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate student needs. You will be based in Orsett, Essex, within an educational setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
