Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Broomfield

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality outreach tutoring sessions in English and Maths to GCSE level students.
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop tailored lesson plans to support their educational goals.
  • Provide individualised support to students to improve their understanding and performance in English and Maths.
  • Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student learning and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in teaching English and Maths at GCSE level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in their learning.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • A degree in Education or relevant subject area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the UK curriculum and assessment requirements for GCSE English and Maths.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing outreach or community-based educational support.
  • Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related field.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is based in Broomfield, Essex, with travel to various outreach locations in the East of England.
  • Full-time hours are expected, with some flexibility required to accommodate student schedules.
  • You will work closely with students, school staff, and parents to support the educational needs of GCSE students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
