Job Title: English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Maldon

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

The English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor will be responsible for providing academic support to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC). This includes developing tailored lesson plans, delivering engaging English and Maths lessons, and tracking students' progress to ensure improvement in their academic performance.

Required Qualifications:

- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)

- Experience working with Looked After Children 

- Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths at the KS3 level

Knowledge and Skills:

- Proficiency in designing and implementing effective lesson plans

- Ability to assess students' learning needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly

- Strong classroom management skills

- Familiarity with educational software and technology

Preferred Qualifications:

- Postgraduate qualification in Education

- Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

The English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor will work, collaborating with school staff and social workers to support the educational needs of Looked After Children. The role may involve some travel within the East of England region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
