SEN 1:1 Tutor
Job description
Are you passionate about supporting learners with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils in Bulwell (NG6) who are outside of mainstream education and have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
About the Role:

Location: Bulwell, NG6 (with potential travel to surrounding areas)

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Hours: Flexible between 8-4
We work closely with local authorities to deliver high-quality, personalised education to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. Many of our learners have an EHCP that outlines their individual learning requirements, and as an SEN Tutor, you will play a key role in ensuring these needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Deliver engaging and adaptable 1:1 tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, and Science) or Functional Skills, aligned with the requirements outlined in the pupil’s EHCP
✅ Develop and implement personalised learning plans that address the specific goals and targets set out in the EHCP
✅ Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed feedback to parents, carers, and local authorities
✅ Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages confidence and independence
✅ Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of SEN learners
Requirements:

A recognised teaching qualification (such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) or experience in SEN

Experience working with learners with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and other learning difficulties

Strong knowledge of the EHCP process and experience in implementing EHCP targets within learning plans

Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
