Job description

Job role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Provision: Secondary school

Location: Chorley, Lancashire

Start date: January 2025

This position is at a school whose mission is to transform the lives of children across Lancashire. They aim to inspire a generation to be the best they can through the quality of teaching they provide. The role you will partake in will be supporting pupils that have been identified as requiring additional support in the classroom, to encourage their learning and engagement in the classroom.

The successful candidate will:

-          Have a passion for working with young people.

-          Have the ability to inspire pupils to ensure they can make the best possible progress in their academic, social and independent skills.

-          Experience working with challenging behaviours.

Your responsibilities:

-          Assist the classroom teacher with planning and adjusting the lessons to suit the individual needs of the pupils.

-          Monitor and evaluate the pupil’s progress.

-          Provide the classroom teacher with accurate comments and reports as needed regarding individual students’ accomplishments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
