Job Advert: School Transport Driver – SEMH Support.
Leyland, Lancashire.
Are you an experienced driver with a passion for supporting young people? We are looking for a dedicated School Transport Driver to join our team at an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Leyland. You will play a key role in providing safe, reliable, and supportive transport for children with SEMH needs, helping them travel from surrounding areas to school each day.
Role Details:
- Position: School Transport Driver
- Location: Leyland (transporting children from surrounding areas)
- Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm (initial 12 weeks with Teaching Personnel, with potential to become permanent)
- Start Date: Immediate starts available
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport children to and from school, creating a calm and supportive environment throughout the journey.
- Build positive relationships with students, providing reassurance and support as needed.
- Work in collaboration with school staff to ensure the wellbeing of students.
- Follow all safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Full, clean UK driving license.
- Experience working with children, especially those with SEMH or additional needs, is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience.
- A commitment to supporting and empowering young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
