Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support a Year 5 pupil with high-level SEMH on a one-to-one basis in a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the FY2 area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-to-one support to a child with significant SEMH needs.

• Assist the child in accessing learning activities while fostering social and emotional development.

• Implement individualised behaviour management strategies in line with the child’s personalised learning plan.

• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met.

• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where the child can thrive both academically and emotionally.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEMH or similar additional needs.

• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.

• A genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of children.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or similar) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
