Job description

A secondary school situated in the south Manchester area is looking to recruit a Science teacher to join them on Monday 6th January 2025 following the Christmas break. The appointed Science teacher will be required for 2 terms to take on a science vacancy which the school have. The role is therefore require until the end of the academic year but with the view that if all goes, they could progress onto a school based contract. The successful scientist is required to teach all sciences to KS4.

The school is looking for a Science teacher who can echo the values of hard work, honesty and a determination to success; displaying a strong subject knowledge and ability to build relationship with students quickly stretching them accordingly.

Key aspects of this Science teacher role:

  • Full time Science teacher required: Monday 6th January 2025 – the end of July 2025.
  • Pay will be dependent upon payscale and calculated on a pro rata basis: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

  • Science teacher who is able to teach all sciences to GCSE level

This secondary school is located in the south Manchester area close to Wythenshawe, Altrincham and Sale. It is therefore very easy to get to for any science teachers in the nearby areas of Didsbury, Stockport, Chorlton and Stretford. The school has an on-site car park as well as plenty of residential parking next to the school. The school can be accessed via the M60 ring road very easily as well as using the metrolink which services all of Manchester.

The school have specifically requested a passionate science teacher that is available from January and willing to take on the responsibility required. Planning, marking, development of resources and any relevant parent’s evenings are required as part of this teaching position.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
