Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking to make a significant impact in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We have an exciting full-time position available for a Science Teacher starting 22nd April 2025 in Poole.

Role Overview

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and tailored science lessons to students aged 11 to 16 who experience a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve creating a safe and structured learning environment where students can explore and engage with the science curriculum at their own pace.

  • You will create and deliver exciting science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, ensuring that all students are supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

  • As a key member of the team, you will work closely with other educators and support staff to ensure that each student receives the care and guidance they need.

  • You will employ innovative teaching methods to support students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome challenges and fostering a love for science.

  • The role will involve managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable and motivated to learn.

  • You will also be responsible for adapting your teaching style to support students' individual learning requirements, enabling them to progress both academically and personally.

 

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a Science Teacher with QTS who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students facing SEMH challenges. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be patient, understanding, and adaptable to students' emotional and academic needs.

  • Have the ability to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.

  • Be experienced or willing to learn strategies for teaching students with anxiety, depression, and attachment issues.

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and support teams to ensure students' well-being and academic success.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 3pm, allowing you to achieve a good work-life balance while making a lasting impact on students' lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
