Teaching Personnel is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position begins in March and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance.

About the Role:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support students in their academic and personal development while gaining invaluable experience in an educational setting. This role is particularly suited to recent Psychology graduates considering a career in education, special educational needs (SEN), or child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with varying needs, including those with additional learning requirements or social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
• Assist in the classroom under the direction of teachers, working across multiple subjects and year groups as required.
• Offer one-to-one and small-group interventions to help students achieve their academic and personal development goals.
• Support students with strategies to improve their emotional regulation, focus, and resilience in learning.
• Develop and adapt resources to meet the needs of individual students and ensure inclusivity in the classroom.
• Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to reports for parents and carers.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being and progress.
• Contribute to the school’s wider support initiatives, such as mental health awareness events, peer mentoring schemes, or social skills workshops.

This role provides a unique opportunity to develop expertise in working with young people while supporting their educational journey.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
• Have a keen interest in child and adolescent development, SEN, or mental health.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Be empathetic, patient, and adaptable to the diverse needs of students.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Have a genuine passion for education and supporting young people in reaching their potential.
• Be available full-time from March to the end of the academic year.

Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training and support will be provided.
