Teaching Personnel is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This full-time position begins ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Student Support: Working closely with students to provide tailored assistance, helping them understand psychological concepts and develop effective study habits.
• Classroom Assistance: Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, helping to manage the classroom environment.
• One-on-One Tutoring: Providing individual or small group tutoring sessions to address specific learning needs and reinforce understanding.
• Lesson Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of lesson materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for all students.
• Assessment: Helping to assess students' work, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring their progress.
• Intervention Programs: Supporting intervention programs aimed at improving student outcomes, particularly in areas related to psychology and mental well-being.
• Mentoring: Acting as a mentor and positive role model, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Administrative Support: Assisting with administrative tasks, such as maintaining student records and preparing reports for the psychology department.
• Extracurricular Activities: Supporting extracurricular activities and clubs related to psychology and mental health awareness.
• Professional Development: Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in educational support and psychology.

Requirements:

• A degree in Psychology or a related field.
• A passion for psychology and a desire to support and inspire students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal growth.
• Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
• A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
