Maths Graduate Opportunity – Full-Time Position in Levenshulme

Are you a recent Maths graduate looking to begin your career in education? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Maths Graduate to join a highly regarded secondary school in Levenshulme. The school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to support their Maths department starting in October, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.

Position Details:

  • Role: Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Levenshulme, Manchester
  • Start Date: October
  • Duration: Full-time, until the end of the academic year (potential to become permanent)
  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with both teachers and students to support the learning process. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Maths department with lesson preparation and classroom activities
  • Providing targeted support to students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities to ensure they reach their full potential
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Contributing to marking and assessing students’ progress
  • Assisting with extra-curricular Maths clubs or intervention sessions where necessary
  • Acting as a role model and inspiring students with a passion for Mathematics

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Mathematics or a related field
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or teaching
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate students at secondary level
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to supporting young learners
  • Any previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable, but not essential
