Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology graduates to join specialist schools in the Bridgend area as SEN Teaching Assistants. This role offers invaluable experience for those aspiring to careers in Educational Psychology, providing the chance to gain paid, hands-on experience in a supportive school setting.
Key Details:
- Pay: £83.85 per day
- Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (weekends off!)
- Location: Bridgend
- Start date: ASAP!
Your Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers to support students with diverse needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. You will engage in 1:1 support, promote engagement in the classroom, and help foster a positive learning environment.
We are seeking individuals who can commit to a Monday – Friday schedule on an ongoing basis, as consistency is crucial to building strong relationships and supporting student development.

Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored, hands-on support for students with a variety of SEN, helping to foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Use your psychology background to understand and support the unique learning styles and emotional needs of students.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your SEN knowledge and skills.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A Psychology Degree (or equivalent)
- Experience working with students with SEMH, Autism, or ADHD
- A strong understanding of SEN support and best practices (Note: These are desirable, but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
