Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Contract: Long-term position to support within a Y1 Classroom (KS1)
Pay: £12.90-£14.00 per hour
Start: ASAP
Working hours: Monday and Tuesday morning (8.40am to 12noon)
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (8.40am to 12noon then 1pm to 3.10pm).

I am working closely with the Headteacher of a reputable mainstream Primary School located in Longridge. The headteacher is keen to welcome someone who has a drive for supporting all children in reaching their full potential. It is a fully inclusive school, and all staff members work collaboratively to ensure quality teaching and leaning takes place.
Main duties
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant in this role the main duties will entail closing gaps in learning whilst providing additional learning support as well as providing group interventions to 3-4 pupils. These will be instructed by the class teacher and learning activities will be planned and ready to be implemented. The ability to adopt a flexible approach is paramount as the learning activities may need to be tailored to meet the needs of the children. Being able to create and maintain positive relationships with children is important, meaning the child/children can build trust to assist their learning and development.
