Phonics Support Teaching Assistant, Part Time, Thornton (FY5)

 Do you have a passion for helping children master phonics and supporting those with special educational needs (SEN)? 

We are looking for a dedicated Phonics Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Thornton (FY5). This part-time role is perfect for someone with experience in a primary setting who is confident in providing tailored phonics support to pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide phonics support to students in a classroom setting
• ✏️ Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons
• ‍ Work with individuals or small groups of students to improve reading and phonics skills
• Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning plans

Requirements:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Previous experience working with children or young adults
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm and patient presence for supporting struggling children
