Phonics Support Teaching Assistant, Part Time, Thornton (FY5)
Do you have a passion for helping children master phonics and supporting those with special educational needs (SEN)?
We are looking for a dedicated Phonics Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Thornton (FY5). This part-time role is perfect for someone with experience in a primary setting who is confident in providing tailored phonics support to pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide phonics support to students in a classroom setting
- ✏️ Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons
- Work with individuals or small groups of students to improve reading and phonics skills
- Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning plans
Requirements:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Previous experience working with children or young adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm and patient presence for supporting struggling children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
