Role: Teaching Assistant - General, 1:1 and group intervention support
Start: September 2021
Hours: Full or part time (6/6.5 per day hours Mon-Friday)
Pay: GBP10.20 per hour
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a number of Teaching Assistants to work in Primary Schools across Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan for roles to start September 2021.
We have a variety of different roles that support children in EYFS, Foundation Phase and KS2 which include support pupils with challenging behaviour, SEN, and Additional Learning Needs.
Alongside full time support roles we also offer flexible working around university/ college courses or other part time roles.
This is the perfect job if you are looking to build up your experience to go into teaching or a role working with children in the future.
What we are looking for -
- Experience working with children (this can be within a school setting, coaching, volunteering or childcare)
- Someone who is comfortable working with challenging behaviour
- Strong team player and also has the ability to work off their own initiative
- Someone who can be flexible and adaptable
You will be expected to:
- Establish rapport and respectful, trusting relationships with pupils, their families and their carers
- Encourage the development of self-confidence, sensitivity and respect for others through the understanding of individual rights and responsibilities
- Provide a curriculum that is accessible and relevant to the needs of each individual pupil through a range of activities and opportunities which ensure that learning is fun
- Encourage self-advocacy and independence
- Generate attitudes of respect and understanding towards all individuals irrespective of background
- Give emphasis to the quality of relationships between all people in the school.
You will need a child workforce DBS (or willing to apply for one), be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) and provide two references.
The minimum hourly rate is GBP10.20.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
