Headteacher Vacancy – Primary SEN School
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Contract Type: Permanent (starting January 2025)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
A highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking an experienced and visionary Headteacher to lead a dynamic and successful primary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Dudley, West Midlands. As the Headteacher of this primary SEN school, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving school improvement, ensuring exceptional educational outcomes for all pupils, and fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive school culture. The role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in SEN leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire both staff and students to achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inspirational leadership and clear strategic direction to the school.
- Oversee the day-to-day management and smooth running of the school.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.
- Lead and support the development of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Foster strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and best practice in SEN provision.
- Work closely with the MAT to align the school’s objectives with the trust’s vision and values.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher within an SEN setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN and experience working with children with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and sensory impairments.
- A track record of leading school improvement initiatives and achieving positive outcomes for pupils with SEN.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire staff.
- Strong knowledge of current educational legislation, SEN policies, and safeguarding requirements.
- Ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders, including pupils, staff, parents, governors, and external partners.
- A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
