Job description

PE Teacher – Secondary School – Audenshaw – September Start

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Audenshaw. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, excellent pastoral support, and strong reputation for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. This is a full-time position starting in September, suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs.

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Pay: Paid in line with your teaching scale (MPS/UPS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Physical Education across KS3 and KS4, including both theory and practical elements

  • Planning engaging lessons that promote fitness, teamwork, and student well-being

  • Preparing students for GCSE PE, including coursework and exam components

  • Supporting and participating in extracurricular sports clubs and school fixtures

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students

  • Contributing to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have experience teaching PE in a UK secondary school setting

  • Be passionate about sport and physical development

  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Be committed to supporting students' physical health and personal growth

  • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check on the update service
