Outdoor Learning Assistant | South Brent | £90–£100 per day

Are you passionate about the outdoors and supporting children’s learning in a natural environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive team in South Brent, helping children thrive through nature-based education and hands-on learning experiences.

Pay: £90–£100 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

As an Outdoor Learning Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils—many with additional needs—supporting their development and engagement through outdoor learning sessions. You'll help deliver a curriculum that incorporates Forest School principles, sensory activities and outdoor exploration.

This is an ideal role for someone who loves working with children in a creative, active setting and understands the value of learning outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children’s learning and well-being through outdoor activities.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of sessions in line with Forest School and outdoor learning principles.

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with children with a variety of needs including SEMH, autism, and anxiety.

  • Encourage curiosity, independence, and social development through nature-based tasks.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during outdoor activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in outdoor or SEN settings.

  • A genuine interest in nature, outdoor education, and child development.

  • A proactive, nurturing, and patient approach.

  • Willingness to work in all weathers and outdoor environments.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
