SEN Teaching Assistant – Outreach Role | Plymouth | £89–£92 per day
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team in Plymouth, supporting children with special educational needs both in-school and through outreach work in the community.
Location: Plymouth and surrounding areas
Pay: £89–£92 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
Business insurance required – mileage reimbursed
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working 1:1 or with small groups of students, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. This role includes outreach work, supporting students who are unable to attend school by delivering learning in homes or alternative settings. You will be instrumental in helping them re-engage with education and build their confidence.
Responsibilities:

Provide support to pupils with a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and anxiety.

Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities in both school and outreach settings.

Maintain accurate records of progress and support provided.

Work collaboratively with schools, families, and other professionals.
Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in an educational or care setting.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (essential for outreach).

A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
