Job Type: Full-time and part-time

Salary: £12.90 - £14 per hour

Our team is passionate about early years education, and we are looking for a motivated and caring Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team.

Role Overview:

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the teaching and learning of young children aged (between 0 and 4 years old) in our nursery setting. You will assist the teaching staff in delivering a range of engaging activities that promote children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to making a difference in young children's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering high-quality early years education and care.
  • Support individual children or small groups with learning activities and play.
  • Help children develop social, emotional, and communication skills through guided interactions.
  • Create a safe and stimulating learning environment, ensuring that all resources are accessible and engaging.
  • Observe and record children's progress and developmental milestones.
  • Ensure children's health and safety, following all safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with colleagues to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and routines.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Support children with additional needs, under the guidance of senior staff.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised Early Years Qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and well-being.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
