Job description

EYFS Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about contributing to the start of children’s Primary School experience? You will need to have a good understanding of the development of children to create a positive impact.

  • Hours:  Full-time 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Pay:  £12.90 - £13.50
  • Location:  Hyndburn

The successful candidate will be working as a general teaching assistant working with the Reception pupils supporting and guiding them where needed.

Your responsibilities:

  • Have a calm and nurturing approach so that relationships can be developed.
  • Support children during the transition period so that they are ready for school.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students e.g. Phonics sessions and interventions.
  • Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparations.
  • Support all students, including those with additional needs so that inclusion is promoted.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

Your requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
  • Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Relevant experience working with children, within a school setting.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
