Job description

Secondary Maths Tutor

£25–£30 per hour

TP Tutors is currently seeking a committed and compassionate Secondary Mathematics Tutor to provide one-to-one support for pupils in the Sunderland area who are currently not attending mainstream education.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised Maths tuition to a secondary-age student.

  • Assess the pupil’s current attainment levels and identify areas for development.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, structured sessions aligned with the learner’s needs and interests.

  • Prepare and adapt learning resources to suit the pupil’s individual learning style.

  • Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment to help re-engage the pupil with education.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.

  • Experience supporting learners outside of mainstream education is advantageous.

  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching.

  • Strong planning, communication, and organisational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
