Maths Tutor
Job description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Maths Tutor to work with pupils outside the traditional school setting across Newcastle upon Tyne. You will provide one-on-one tuition in the home or local community, to help students improve their maths skills, gain confidence, and reach their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored maths lessons to pupils based on their individual needs and learning styles.
- Help students understand key mathematical concepts, from basic arithmetic to more advanced topics.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging a growth mindset and self-confidence in their abilities.
- Support students in exam preparation, homework help, and improving their overall maths skills.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different levels of understanding and learning styles.
Key Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of the maths National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 or 4, depending on the role.
- Previous experience tutoring maths to students outside of the school system or those with additional needs.
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Qualified Teacher Status in maths or the equivalent tutoring experience.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
