Job description

Maths Tutor Opportunity – South Tyneside

TP Tutors are working closley with Local Authorities and Schools in the South Tyneside area to source dedicated maths tutors. As a tutor you will play a key role in providing academic support to help children achieve their mathematical goals.

We are seeking a passionate individual who is committed to helping children succeed, whether through one-on-one tutoring or small group sessions. This role may require working outside of mainstream school settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and deliver engaging maths sessions.

  • Monitor student progress, set learning objectives, and provide constructive feedback.

  • Implement effective behaviour strategies to maintain focus and engagement.

  • Adapt teaching approaches based on individual student needs and interests.

Requirements:

  • Preferably hold professional teaching qualifications (e.g., Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).

  • Significant experience in teaching or tutoring.

  • Experience supporting children/young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs.

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through TP Tutors).

  • Professional references covering 24 months within the last 10 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
