Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position starts in January and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. The weekly pay for this role is £419.25 - £500, dependent on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This role is ideal for recent mathematics graduates who are passionate about education and considering a career in teaching. You will play a vital role in supporting the maths department, working with students to help them achieve their full potential in this essential subject.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, ensuring students remain on track with their learning.
  • Small Group and One-to-One Intervention: Provide targeted support for students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts, helping to improve understanding and confidence.
  • Resource Preparation: Help develop and organise lesson materials, including worksheets, activities, and revision aids, to support students' learning journeys.
  • Mentorship: Build positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and fostering a passion for mathematics.
  • Assessment Assistance: Support the monitoring of students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform future lesson planning.
  • Behaviour Management: Promote a positive classroom environment by encouraging good behaviour and helping to resolve any issues effectively.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Maths Graduate: A degree in mathematics or a related subject is essential.
  • Passionate about Education: A strong desire to inspire and support students in achieving their best.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Organised and Adaptable: Comfortable managing various responsibilities in a dynamic school environment.
  • Experience (Desirable): Previous experience working with young people, such as tutoring or volunteering, is beneficial but not essential.
