Job description

Lerning Support Assistant required to support SEN Pupils in Secondary School.

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated LSA's/Teaching Assistants to work within mainstream Secondary Schools in the Winchester area. Many pupils in mainstream school have Special Educational Needs and need additional support to help them access the curriculum. Through Teaching Personnel, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, helping pupils with SEN or SEMH needs thrive in their education.

Role Overview:

  • Position: Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant
  • Location: Winchester
  • Employment Type: Full-time (temporary and permanent opportunities available)
  • Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to deliver tailored interventions and learning strategies
  • Assist with both academic and personal development, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and encourage positive behaviour

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN or SEMH students in either a school or care setting
  • A compassionate and patient attitude with the ability to adapt to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to working full-time, with flexibility for both temporary and permanent positions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
